PJTSAU scientiests held one day training prog for farmers on pest control


Gadwal:23rd August 2019: Team of experts from Kaveri Seeds Private limited along with Agriculture Scientiests from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU) conducted a training programme to the farmers in Gadwal district on Friday

.

The training was focused on best practices and various methods to control Pink Bollworm infestation in cotton. The scientist also discussed on best Agronomic practices to improve the yield per acre of land during the training programme with the farmers.


While speaking on the occasion S.P Rao, President for Supply Chain Operations at Kaveri Seeds said, “Our organisation is a farmer centric organization and we have always believed that ‘Farmers prosperity is our priority’. Keeping in line with our ethos we regularly engaged with farmers and conducting various training programs by roping in eminent agriculture scientist.”


As part of the training programme, the famers were given awareness on best agronomic practices, Pink ball and Fall Army worm management in Cotton and Maize crops respectively. The farmers were also given training in post-harvesting care and other aspects during the one day workshop. “We are thankful to the management of Kaveri Seeds who have been always supporting the farmers through their innovative training, suggestions and scientific knowledge on measures to be taken to protect our crops. With their support we have achieved good yields since past 12 years,” said a farmer, who took part in the training programme.


More than 1200 farmers took part in the one day training programme, who were given technical advises by the scientists from PJTSAU on various aspects of crop cultivation and Pest Management practices.


The Scientists who took part in the training programme included Dr. A. Sudarshnam, PS (cotton), Rural Agriculture Research Station (RARS) Warangal, Dr. S. J Rahman, PS (ento) & Head of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Biological control, B. Ram Prasad, Senior Scientist (Ento), RARs, Warangal, T. Ashwini Scientist (Pl.Path) from RARS Warangal and V. Divyya, Scientist (Pl.Path) RARS from Palem, participated in the event

The team of officials who took part in the programme from Kaveri seeds includes S. P. Rao, CSS Prasad), R. Sanjeev Kumar and M. Venumadhav.
