Hyderabad, February 03, 2025 — New Shop, India's leading 24/7 convenience retail chain, has officially entered the southern market with the launch of 20 new franchise outlets in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. This strategic expansion into the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana underscores New Shop's commitment to broadening its national presence.

The company has planted its first flag in Andhra Pradesh with an outlet in Visakhapatnam and has simultaneously opened several new stores in high-density neighborhoods of Hyderabad. This move not only aims to tap into the vibrant consumer base of southern India but also to stimulate local economies by creating numerous employment opportunities through its franchising model.

This expansion follows New Shop's aggressive growth strategy focusing primarily on Tier 2 and 3 cities. A key step in this strategy was the acquisition of its competitor Godfrey Phillips' retail arm 24Seven, India's oldest convenience store chain. This move, not only solidified New Shop's dominance in the convenience retail sector but also set the stage for further geographic expansion, particularly targeting key transit locations in southern states.

New Shop's expansion strategy also aims to integrate the best technology and convenience for customers, with plans to include various services such as EV charging stations at select locations to enhance customer experience.

Aastha Almast, Co-Founder of New Shop, said, "Our expansion into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is a pivotal moment in our journey to build a comprehensive network of convenience stores across India. We're not just looking to serve our customers but also to contribute to local communities by fostering employment and economic growth through our franchise model."

New Shop currently has over 250 outlets spread across 35 cities in 18 states and plans to significantly scale its operations in the coming years. Last year, the company also partnered with French consumer-tech giant Metavisio Thomson to introduce affordable laptops in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets through 120 flagship stores across India.
