Nandamuri Balakrishna Celebrates Birthday with Children Battling Cance

Hyderabad, June 11, 2026: Mr. Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI), announced that the grand closing ceremony of the hospital's Silver Jubilee celebrations will be held on June 22, 2026, at Novotel Hotel, Hitech City, Hyderabad.


Addressing a media conference at the hospital on Thursday, Mr. Balakrishna said that the institution, established in 2000, has successfully completed 25 years of dedicated service in cancer care and continues to move forward guided by the ideals of the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Smt. Basavatarakam.


He stated that several programmes were organized throughout the year as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations and that the concluding event on June 22 would be a grand occasion attended by eminent national and state leaders.


Among the distinguished guests expected to attend are Shri J. P. Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare; Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, former Vice President of India; Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana; and Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.


Mr. Balakrishna further informed that Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation; Smt. Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare; Shri Damodar Rajanarasimha, Telangana Health Minister; and Shri Satya Kumar Yadav, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister, will also participate in the celebrations.


The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the hospital's remarkable 25-year journey and reaffirm its commitment to expanding cancer care services through the construction of the new North Block at the Hyderabad campus and the upcoming cancer hospital at Thullur near Amaravati. He said the institution would honour and remember all those who have contributed to the growth and success of the hospital over the past two and a half decades.

Reiterating the hospital's commitment to affordable and accessible healthcare, Mr. Balakrishna emphasized that BIACH&RI has been operating on a non-profit basis since its inception and will continue to serve society with the same dedication in the future.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Balakrishna celebrated his birthday with children undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital. He cut a cake arranged by the hospital staff and shared the celebrations with the children. He also distributed toys and gifts to the young patients.


On the occasion, Shri Seetharama Raju of Hyderabad donated ₹1 lakh to the hospital. Students and management of Triveni and Krishnaveni Schools contributed ₹1,01,116 towards the treatment and support of cancer patients. Additionally, Shri Kakarla Raghavendra Rao donated ₹10 lakh towards the construction of the upcoming cancer hospital at Thullur near Amaravati.


Expressing his gratitude to all the donors, Mr. Balakrishna particularly appreciated the efforts of the schoolchildren for their contribution towards a noble cause. He also thanked everyone who conveyed birthday wishes and prayed for the strength and opportunity to continue serving society with greater enthusiasm in the years ahead.


The programme was attended by Dr. T. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, Medical Director, BIACH&RI; Dr. Phani Koteswara Rao, Medical Superintendent, BIACH&RI; Dr. Kalpana Raghunadh, Associate Director – Academics, BIACH&RI; along with heads of various medical departments, doctors, nursing staff, paramedical personnel, and other hospital employees.
