Karan Torani, Tanya Ghavri, Namrata Joshipura, and Anjali Gaekwar share insights at YFLO’s session ‘Style Speaks Strategy’

Hyderabad, September 13, 2025 – Fashion is far more than fabric—it’s an expression of identity, emotion, and culture. This was the compelling message shared by four leading voices in India’s fashion and luxury space at a thought-provoking panel discussion titled ‘Style Speaks Strategy’, hosted by Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) on Saturday evening at Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills.

Moderated by Pallavi Jain, Chairperson of YFLO Hyderabad, the panel featured acclaimed designer Karan Torani, celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri, internationally renowned designer Namrata Joshipura, and luxury retail entrepreneur Anjali Gaekwar.

AI in Fashion: Tool, Not Threat

Addressing the hot topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the fashion industry, the speakers collectively downplayed fears of AI replacing designers. Instead, they positioned AI as a supportive tool, capable of enhancing efficiency while elevating human creativity.

“Like photography didn’t kill painting, AI won’t kill fashion design—it will transform it,” said Karan Torani, founder of the Torani label. “AI can handle repetitive tasks, freeing up designers to focus on storytelling, sustainability, emotional branding, and creative direction.”

He added with a smile, “Let any technology come—Indians don’t forget their roots. Take weddings, for instance. We may live in a tech world, but the ‘bandwala’ still plays on.”

Tanya Ghavri echoed a similar sentiment: “AI has intelligence, but humans have imagination. Machines may compute, but only the human mind can think and dream.” She highlighted the evolution of the styling profession, noting its growing presence across Bollywood, OTT platforms, advertising, weddings, and social media.
