Hyderabad Emerging as the Cybersecurity Capital of India – Minister Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, August 8, 2025:Hyderabad is rapidly emerging as the cybersecurity capital of India, said Telangana Minister for IT, Electronics, and Industries, Shri Sridhar Babu, while addressing the Shield NXG 2025 – CIO Connect Series organised by ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation, at Park Hyatt Hotel, Hyderabad, on Friday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, the Minister highlighted that Telangana is the first state in India to establish a dedicated Cybersecurity Bureau in Hyderabad, which resolves over 1,200 cases per month and boasts the highest conviction rate in the country. He added that the bureau is being expanded to the district level, with initiatives to extend cyber support to startups and rural youth.
The Minister appreciated Zoho Corporation’s rural development initiatives, calling them an exemplary step towards bridging the urban–rural technology gap. He stressed that with the pace of digital transformation, the Digital India Act and DPDP Act will play a crucial role in governance. He also announced upcoming government programs such as the Ethical Hacking Fellowship, Cyber Hygiene Education, and AI-based training initiatives.
“Trust, responsibility, and partnership must form the foundation of future cybersecurity,” the Minister emphasized.
The event saw participation from CISOs, cybersecurity experts, and policy makers from across the country, who engaged in discussions on cyber threats and security strategies. Notable attendees included Dr. Pavan Duggal, Supreme Court Advocate and Cyber Law Expert, and Yogesh Kumar, Deputy Director General, NIC. Special sessions were conducted on AI-based threat detection, Zero Trust Architecture, and Supply Chain Security.
