CII ENERGY EFFICIENCY SUMMIT 2026 HIGHLIGHTS ENERGY EFFICIENCY AS KEY TO NET ZERO

Hyderabad, September 16, 2026: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) inaugurated the 25th Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad, on Wednesday, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers and sustainability experts to discuss India’s transition towards a Net Zero economy.

Organised by the CII–Godrej Green Business Centre, the Summit is being held under the theme “Accelerating the transition to a Net Zero economy through energy efficiency, clean technologies, and sustainable practices.”

Addressing the inaugural session, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka emphasised that energy efficiency is not only an environmental responsibility but also a key economic competitiveness strategy. He highlighted the importance of efficient technologies, digital energy management and sustainable industrial growth.

Mr. Tejpreet Singh Chopra, Chairman, Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 and Founder & CEO, BLP-Industry.AI, said that AI and digital tools are becoming catalysts for energy efficiency by helping industries identify opportunities, reduce costs and scale energy-saving solutions.

The inaugural day also featured the 22nd Power Plant Summit 2026 and the 20th PaperTech 2026, focusing on thermal power efficiency, renewable energy integration, industrial decarbonisation, sustainable manufacturing and resource conservation.

Three publications were released during the inaugural session, including The Energy Efficiency Imperative, the CII Thermal Power Plant Benchmarking Report 2026 and the Best Practice Manual in Paper Sector – Volume 14.

The event witnessed participation from over 1,600 stakeholders, 60+ national and international speakers and an exposition showcasing 75+ innovative technologies and solutions. The 27th edition of the CII National Award for Excellence in Energy Management also commenced, with 263 industries across 15+ sectors presenting their energy-efficiency practices.
