Hyderabad, April 22, 2025 – The Shallow Seismic Group from CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) and Decarb, a startup pioneering green industrial solutions, presented their joint research at the Startup Conclave organized by CSIR-NGRI, IICT, and CCMB.

The collaboration between CSIR-NGRI and Decarb aims to develop sustainable geological carbon dioxide (CO₂) storage solutions, addressing the CO₂ emissions produced as a byproduct of Decarb’s operations.

During the conclave held at CSIR-IICT, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh, visited the collaborative stall. Dr. Nimisha Vedanti, Group Leader from NGRI, along with Chief Scientist Samarth Vijay, Founder of Decarb, and Varun Krishnan, Lead – Carbon Management, briefed the Minister on their research efforts. They highlighted how the partnership combines startup innovation with advanced geoscientific expertise to tackle pressing carbon management challenges.

This initiative underscores the growing importance of industry-research collaborations in achieving India’s climate goals through innovative and practical carbon mitigation strategies.
