Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute Celebrated its Chairman Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Birthday with Much Fanfare

Hyderabad, June 10, 2025: 65th Birthday of Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute was celebrated with much fanfare and enthusiasm in the hospital today.  After reaching the hospital to participate in the celebrations, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna has paid floral tributes to his parents Late Sri NT Rama Rao and Late Smt Basavatarakam by garlanding their statues present in the hospital.  Later he participated in a cake cutting ceremony organised by management and staff members of the hospital along with children fighting with the cancer.  He has personally offered the cakes to the children and also handed over few gifts to them on this occasion.

During the program the Padma Bhushan medal wore by Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna on his dress attracted attentions of the attendees.  

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna has said that the numbers in age doesn’t bother him anymore and always move forward by understanding the self-first.  He bowed his head to his parents, who are the embodiment of Parvati Parameswari, and expressed gratitude for this life. Stating that hospital is a temple and those working are equal to god and urged them to continue the good work done by them.  While repeating a proverb in english, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna said that he would always try to sharpen his brain and see something new in his work.  While remembering the incident when his father asked him to appear for entrance examination for medical education, Sri Balakrishna said that the responsibilities of managing the hospital 15 years before that was setup to fulfil the wishes of his mother is a god given gift.  He appreciated efforts of all due to which a trust hospital is now came to known as one of the leading cancer care facility in the nation.  While explaining the need to do any act with a passion, he always followed the same principle of doing any work with own passion and interest. He said that even though the Padma Bhushan medal he received was given in the name of the film, he believes that the main reason for it is the many good programs being carried out through Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute and the credit goes to everyone in the hospital.

Later Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna inaugurated a blood donation camp organised by his fans in the premises of the hospital and handed over blood donation certificates to them.  He also allowed his fans, patients and their family members to take photographs and selfies.  Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna also received the donation of Rs.1,01,016/- made by students and management of Triveni School, Kothagudem Town and fed them the birthday cake with his own hands.

These programs were attended by Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman, BIACH&RI along with Sri JSR Prasad, Trust Board Member, BIACH&RI; Dr K Krishniah, CEO, BIACH&RI; Dr Phani Koteswara Rao, Medical Superintendent, BIACH&RI; Dr Kalpana Raghunath, Associate Director-Academics, BIACH&RI and doctors, staff members, paramedical staff of the hospital, patients and their family members, cine fans in large numbers.
