7-Year-Old Advik Bhammarkar Sets World Record with 155-Ft Blindfolded Rappelling Descent

Hyderabad, June 28, 2025:In a moment of pride for the state of Telangana and the nation, Master Advik Bhammarkar, a 7-year-old student of Class 2 from Hyderabad, has achieved a world record by completing a 155-foot blindfolded rappelling descent at Malaipattu Mountain, Tamil Nadu, on 15th June 2025. His feat has been officially documented by the Nobel World Records and has captured national attention.
Trained under the guidance of Mr. R. Thirulogachandran, General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Mountaineering Association (TNMA), Advik underwent professional mountaineering training and completed a Basic Rock Climbing Course. His record attempt was executed under full safety supervision and validated by Mr. S. V. Ramana Babu, President of TNMA and Judge for Nobel World Records.
The extraordinary courage, composure, and discipline shown by Advik at such a young age were met with high praise. His achievement has received special appreciation from Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Sri Batti Vikramarka Garu, who applauded the young talent for bringing glory to the state and serving as an inspiration to the youth of Telangana.
"Advik’s achievement is not only a personal milestone but a proud moment for all of Telangana. His focus, bravery, and determination reflect the spirit of our new generation,” remarked Deputy CM Batti Vikramarka Garu.
Medical, neurological, and psychological evaluations from leading professionals confirmed Advik’s fitness and readiness for high-focus adventure activities. He was also trained in physical conditioning by JBX Performance Lab, under Coach Jacqline Babita Xaiver, and assessed by Sports Psychologist Ms. Cheryl, who validated his emotional and mental preparedness.
The record was celebrated at a felicitation ceremony in Malaipattu Village, with the presentation of:

Village Honors by Mr. Padmanaban and Mr. TGR Babu, President, Sport Climbing Association of Tamil Nadu
Encouraged by experts, Advik is now being considered for the Everest Base Camp Expedition in September 2025, with hopes for a future in international mountaineering and Olympic sport climbing.
His proud parents, Dr. Umesh and Dr. Sarika Bhammarkar, thanked the Hon’ble Deputy CM and the Telangana government for recognizing their son’s achievement, and urged continued support for young talents in adventure sports.
