45th AMPICON National Conference organized jointly by Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute and Association of Medical Physicists India


Hyderabad, November 8, 2024: Three Day long 45th AMPICON National Conference organized jointly by Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute and Association of Medical Physicists India has begun today


Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute along with Association of Medical Physicists of India have jointly organizing a three day long 45th AMPICON National Conference from 8th November to 10th November 2024. Conference organized on a theme titled "Impact of Medical Physics Research on Human Health" was inaugurated today a specially organised inaugural session in Hyderabad. The conference will deliberate on impact of radiation therapy and associated technologies on human biology that is unique to each individual. Attended by more than 1000 radiation physicists and radiation oncologists, physics scientists will also discuss about advanced technologies available for Radiation Therapy such as proton therapy, Brachytherapy etc.


Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman, BIACH&RI was the chief guest to the inaugural function. Prof BS Murthy, Director, IIT H and Sri JSR Prasad, Trust Board Member, BIACH&RI were the guest of honour for the program.


The program begun with traditional lighting the lamp was followed by welcome address by Dr Madhusudhan Shreshti, HOD, Radiation Physicists Department of BIACH&RI. Speaking on the importance of radiation physicists in providing cancer care, he also explained the key role played by them in Radiation Therapy from the behind the machines. He hoped that the theme selected for this year's conference will further provide insights on how individual human body will react to radiation therapy.


Finally speaking in the program, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna highlighted the vision of Late NTR in establishing an advanced treatment facility that can provide cancer care at affordable rates. He also explained how hospital has developed its own R&D programs and also encouraged knowledge sharing with others in its premises and is in forefront of organising such knowledge sharing programs. He hoped that this conference will also achieve this objective of sharing and exchange of knowledge among participants.
