12th Annual Meet of Venous ass'n India, held from Jan17-20, in Hyd

Hyderabad, Thursday, January 17, 2019: The 12th Annual Meeting of the Venous Association of India, being held at Hyderabad, from January 17 to 20, 2019 at Hotel Manohar, Begumpet, was today inaugurated by Honourable Governor of AP & Telangana, ESL Narasimhan in the presence of Guests of Honour- Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint MD, Apollo Hospitals Group and Dr. Raghu Ram P, President, The Association of Surgeons of India (2019); Dr. Ravul Jindal, President, VAI; Prof. Pinjala Ramakrishna, Organising Chairman; Dr. Ramakrishna Pinjala, Organising Chairman, VAICON 2019, Dr. Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, Organising Secretary-VAICON 2019, members of VAICON and the participants.

The theme of this year’s annual conference is “Vein Therapies are Safe.” The inauguration also witnessed the launch of the VAI app.

Over 350 Participants including Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, Physiotherapists and faculties from all over India and other countries will attend the 3-day conference. The 3-day conference schedule encompasses wide range of topics and includes recent scientific, clinical and technical achievements in the field of venous diseases. It offers the delegates an outstanding combination of debates, symposiums, workshops, paper and poster presentations as well as young achievers award, and prizes in each category. There are nearly one hundred presentations on different topics that will be held during the 3-day deliberations.


A walkathon is also planned on January 18th between 6.30 am to 7.30 am near the Old Airport to increase the awareness of venous problems in the society.

The International Lymphology Full day Workshop with didactic lectures and Hands-on training will be held on 20th January 2019 at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR) Hyderabad.


Venous disorders are common in our society and they affect the quality of life. Varicose veins, ulcers and deep vein thrombosis are venous disorders. These disorders not only affect the quality of life but also increase the financial burden to the family. Now these disorders are better understood and safely treated by the doctors who are looking after the venous diseases. Varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis can be treated effectively and safely with the available methods of treatment.
