Hyderabad, 4th September 2025: Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda, has achieved a major milestone in advanced orthopaedics and joint replacement by successfully performing the first-ever 3D-printed titanium Talus bone replacement surgery in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
A 38-year-old businessman from Karimnagar, suffering from avascular necrosis of the Talus bone after a severe ankle fracture, underwent the innovative procedure led by Dr. Sunil Dachepalli and his team. Instead of conventional ankle joint fusion, which restricts mobility, a custom-made titanium Talus bone was created using advanced 3D imaging and printing technology based on the patient’s healthy ankle scans.
The surgery, performed a few weeks ago, was highly successful, and the patient is now walking pain-free and resuming his daily routine.
Dr. Sunil Dachepalli said, “This breakthrough highlights how technology can transform lives. Instead of losing ankle function through fusion, we could restore mobility with a custom-made 3D-printed implant.”
Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals, added, “This landmark surgery not only marks a first in the Telugu states but also represents a significant advancement in orthopaedics, innovation, and patient care.”
This achievement reinforces Yashoda Hospitals’ commitment to pioneering cutting-edge medical technologies and providing world-class healthcare.
