
Hyderabad, September 25, 2023: The Hon'ble Governor of Telangana and Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundararajan, hosted the Chancellor Connects Alumni meet at Raj Bhavan, bringing together academic leaders and dedicated alumni advocates. This event, held today, served as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable contributions made by alumni to their respective universities and colleges.
During her address, The Hon'ble Governor unveiled plans to establish an Evaluation Committee, consisting of Vice Chancellors and eminent academicians, tasked with assessing the contributions made by various alumni to their alma maters. The top 10 contributors, both in financial and non-financial categories, will be honoured at an event scheduled for October 31, 2023.
She emphasized that through Chancellor Connects Alumni, individuals can contribute to universities or colleges in their hometowns, even if they haven't personally studied in those institutions. This initiative aims to empower alumni to have a meaningful impact on their local educational institutions.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan highlighted the commitment of Raj Bhavan to provide clarity, foster connections, and ensure that every alumni contribution is effectively directed towards relevant projects. This endeavor aims to maximize the impact of alumni contributions, whether in the form of time, expertise, or financial support.
The Governor shared her vision for Telangana's universities to excel and be on par with foreign institutions. She expressed her desire to see Telangana students access a digital library at Raj Bhavan, designed to make educational resources more accessible to all, including students from remote areas.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan described Chancellor Connects Alumni as a platform for communication, connection, coordination, and cooperation among alumni, academic leaders, and educational institutions.
Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan actively engaged in constructive discussions with a diverse assembly of prominent academicians representing various regions of Telangana, aiming to enhance the efficacy and success of Chancellor Connects Alumni initiatives.
The event saw the participation of several distinguished figures, including Vice Chancellors, Principals, prominent academics, and representatives from various educational and non-educational institutions.
