Telangana Player Aakash Vadlakonda Secures 1st Place at AICFB National Junior Chess Championship 2024

Hyderabad, August 29, 2025:Telangana’s young chess talent Ms. Aakash Vadlakonda has brought pride to the state by securing 1st place at the AICFB National Junior Chess Championship for the Visually Challenged, 2024, held at Honnavar, Karnataka from 19th to 21st November 2024.


Organized by the All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB) in association with the Karnataka State Chess Association for the Visually Challenged and hosted by the Rotary Club of Honnavar, the prestigious tournament witnessed participation from players across the country.


Aakash scored 6 points out of 7 rounds, showcasing exceptional skill and determination, and emerged as the national champion in the junior category.


The championship was conducted under the recognition of the Government of India and the FIDE World Chess Federation, reaffirming its global standards.


Dr. Charudatta Jadhav (President, AICFB), Dr. Manish Thool (General Secretary, AICFB), and IA Manjunatha M. (Chief Arbiter) congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of all participants.
