Hyderabad, June 21, 2025: At the ASSOCHAM Southern CSR & Sustainability Conference and Awards held at The Westin, Mindspace, Hyderabad, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Shri Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu emphasized that the State is shaping a new model of development — one that fuses economic growth with a strong human dimension.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Shri Bhatti Vikramarka stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy, the State government is committed to building a fiscally disciplined, socially inclusive, and environmentally responsible Telangana.
“We live in a world of abundant resources but deep inequality. The failure of trickle-down economics is evident. What we now need is ‘lift-all’ development — inclusive growth that uplifts everyone,” he said.
Reaffirming the Congress Party's core ideology, the Deputy CM noted that economic growth must be rooted in social justice. He called for corporate actions driven not by charity, but by responsibility.
“Work not for applause, but for transformation. Our efforts should not only be about building companies but about improving the wellbeing of society at large.”
He emphasized that Telangana is an ideal destination for CSR initiatives, offering a platform for impactful, transparent, and meaningful social investment. He invited companies from across the country to consider Telangana as a hub for CSR and sustainability projects.
Highlighting the State’s investor-friendly environment, he listed Telangana’s advantages:
No language barriers
Peaceful law & order
Abundant and affordable skilled workforce
A proactive, transparent, and people-friendly government
“Telangana is not just competing with other Indian states — it is competing with developed nations,” he declared.
Shri Bhatti Vikramarka shared key initiatives by the government:
Launch of Young India International Residential Schools:
100 world-class schools sanctioned (one per assembly constituency)
₹200 crore investment per school
25-acre campuses with global standards
Upgrade of 100 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into advanced technology centers in partnership with corporates
He revealed that the corporate sector has responded enthusiastically to managing these schools, with several companies coming forward within just 15 days.
Discussing CSR's evolving role, the Deputy CM noted:
“Development that ignores society is flawed. Profit without purpose is meaningless. Sustainability must include human dignity — and growth must reach government school girls, distressed farmers, and rural artisans.”
He called on companies to:
Invest in green skills training for rural youth
Support women’s self-help groups with tools, training, and market access
Shift from one-time grants to long-term, community-based development models
“Every CSR initiative should empower people with self-belief and self-determination — the spirit of Swaraj,” he concluded.
The event was also attended by Hyderabad District Collector Sri Dasari Harichandan, ASSOCHAM dignitaries Suresh Chukkapalli, Barul Islam, Abhishek Ranjan, Krishna Edula, and other prominent stakeholders from across the industry.
