Hyderabad, November 12, 2025: Sunshine Bone & Joint Institute, part of the KIMS Group of Hospitals, has achieved a historic milestone by being recognized as India’s first “Center of Excellence” for Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery. The honour was conferred by Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, acknowledging Sunshine’s pioneering role in robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery, its clinical excellence, and its contributions to research and surgeon training.
At a press conference held on November 12, Dr. A.V. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy, Managing Director, KIMS-Sunshine Hospitals and renowned orthopaedic surgeon, said, We are delighted that Sunshine Bone & Joint Institute has been recognized as the first Center of Excellence in India by Stryker. This award reflects the world-class work done by our surgical team in robotic knee and hip replacements, our strong clinical research, and our consistent focus on quality and teamwork. This recognition is not just a moment of pride for Sunshine or the KIMS Group, but for the entire Telugu states and Hyderabad.
Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMS Group of Hospitals, added that KIMS has always been at the forefront of adopting advanced medical technologies to make them more accessible and affordable to patients across India.
Mr. Aman Rishi, Vice President and General Manager, Stryker India, highlighted that the recognition was based on Sunshine’s outstanding record of performing over 10,000 robotic-assisted joint replacement surgeries, publishing numerous research papers, and contributing to medical education and patient care excellence.
Dr. Gurava Reddy further stated,India is emerging as a leading destination for global health tourism, and Hyderabad is playing a key role in that progress.
