SHE teams in mufti will now give safe cover to women in Narayanpet


Narayanpet: The Narayanpet district police have launched SHE teams for the first time in the district on Saturday. As part of the programme Narayanpet Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Chetana flagged of a 2K run in the district for creating awareness among the public about the SHE teams.


With the launch of SHE teams in Narayanpet district, now the women folks, college girls, working women and women in household can get the safe cover of SHE teams who will be providing 24/7 protection to the women folks from household violence, harassment by male chauvinists, eve teasers, stalkers and molesters in the district.


To begin with the district police have set up 12 SHE teams and they will be roaming in all corners of the district in mufti and will keep an eye on the miscreants who indulge in mischievous behaviour with the girls and women folks. Any one if encountered with any kind of problem they can dial 100 and inform the police. The SHE teams will be ever ready to reach the spot and take the culprits into custody, said Dr Chetana,

“The concept of SHE teams has really become a great success particularly with regard to providing security to the women folks. Unlike earlier, now the college girls, working women and women in the society are feeling safe and the incidences of violence against women have also drastically reduced because of the effective services of SHE teams. In Narayanpet, the SHE teams will be in mufti and will be roaming in all corners of the district and will keep an eye on the miscreants who are harassing the college girls, working women and even women who are being subjected to house hold violence will also get the protection of SHE teams. If any incident of harassment against women is reported the SHE teams will act swiftly and arrest the culprits and book cases against them and take all necessary legal action to punish the culprits,” said the SP.


Later, the SP along with members of SHE teams and other police officials took part in a 2K run, where in the members of SHE teams with the banners took part in the run and spread the awareness to the public about the SHE teams.
