“Saraswati Literary Fest 2025” Grandly Inaugurated at JNTU on the Occasion of Vyasa Purnima

Hyderabad, July 10, 2025: With the objective of promoting Indian literary traditions, cultural excellence, and indigenous creativity among the youth, the “Saraswati Literary Fest 2025”, organised by Varma Foundation, was grandly inaugurated today at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Vyasa Purnima.


For the past several years, Varma Foundation has been conducting the Saraswati Literary Fest across various states, aiming to introduce students to India’s historical and literary richness through diverse artistic expressions and intellectual engagements.


The inaugural day of the fest featured a range of captivating events including:


Panel Discussions:

From Tradition to Progress: The Importance of Indian Knowledge Systems in the 21st Century

From Scripts to Screens: Storytelling in the Entertainment Industry

Stories, Skills, and Sustainability in the Digital Age


Interactive Sessions: Literary debates, Panchatantra storytelling, puppet shows, and exhibitions on India’s oral storytelling traditions, in collaboration with the Telangana State Language and Culture Department, drew enthusiastic participation from students.


Cultural Highlights:

Quizzes on Indian culture and heritage


Discussions on the relevance of Indian knowledge systems in solving global issues

Student rallies featuring costumes of mythological and literary characters

Open mic sessions, youth poetry, and spoken word performances


The festival was inaugurated by Telangana Governor Sri Jishnu Dev Varma, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with eminent personalities including Padma Shri awardee BVR Mohan Reddy, actor Sree Vishnu, JNTU Registrar Venkateshwar Rao, RSS leader Ale Shyam Ji, and other distinguished guests.


Speaking on the occasion, Varma Foundation Chairman Sri P.U.N. Varma stated,


“This festival is not limited to books alone. It is a platform for expression, writing, and conversations. It is not just a festival but a cultural yajna (sacred endeavour). Every literature enthusiast should participate and revive the Indian ethos.”


Organisers from Amaravani Foundation and Jignasa Foundation, who are jointly hosting the event, mentioned that several engaging events are scheduled for the remaining duration of the two-day literary fest.
