RED.Health partners with Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital to revolutionize emergency care in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 26th September 2024: In its bid to elevate critical care across the country, RED.Health, Asia’s only JCI-accredited and India’s largest emergency medical response platform, has now forayed into the city of Hyderabad through a strategic partnership with Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute. This collaboration represents a significant step toward ensuring patients receive timely and advanced care during medical emergencies, where every second counts. The partnership was officially launched at a flag-off ceremony on 26 September 2024, presided over by Dr. K. Krishnaiah, CEO and Sunil Tandon, COO, of Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Mr. Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & CEO of RED.Health.

As India’s cancer burden continues to grow at an alarming rate, the availability of rapid and efficient emergency response becomes critical.  In 2019 alone, the country saw approximately 12 lakh new cancer cases and 9.3 lakh deaths, making it the second-highest contributor to cancer cases in Asia. The collaboration between RED.Health and Basavatarakam Indo-American Hospital directly addresses this need, ensuring that patients can access medical care faster, right from the onset of a medical emergency to the arrival at a specialized care facility.

Their joint efforts will deploy a fleet of ambulances stationed across strategic points in the city. The ambulances, staffed by skilled paramedics, are equipped with advanced medical devices for real-time monitoring and immediate intervention, significantly improving the chances of survival during transport. This initiative will strengthen the city’s capacity to respond to critical situations, improving outcomes for patients experiencing life-threatening medical events like cancer emergencies.

Commenting on the partnership, Prabhdeep Singh, Founder and CEO of RED.Health, said, “In emergencies, every moment can mean the difference between life and death. Through this partnership, we are ensuring that Hyderabad’s residents have access to the best possible care during critical times. Our ALS ambulances, combined with the expertise of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital, will ensure patients are supported from the moment help is requested until they are safely in the hands of hospital staff.”

Dr. Kurapati Krishnaiah,CEO of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute said, “Our partnership with RED.Health marks a crucial step in providing timely care to patients who need emergency support. The ALS ambulances now allow us to extend our care beyond the hospital, ensuring patients receive life-saving attention right from the moment a medical crisis occurs. With emergencies, these advanced services mean that stabilization and expert intervention can happen even before they reach our hospital. This collaboration will significantly reduce delays in care, improving patient outcomes in a city where enhanced emergency response is essential.”

The partnership also includes plans for ongoing training and knowledge sharing between RED.Health’s emergency response teams and the hospital’s oncology staff. This continuous learning approach aims to keep the service at the forefront of cancer emergency care.
