08th December 2023, Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) – the central apex body for promotion and packaging standards – organised the National Conference on Packaging Innovation for future Planet – Propelling growth in FMCG, Food and Pharma sector during 8-9 December 2023 at Hotel Park Hyatt, Hyderabad.
The conference aimed at highlighting the latest trends and technologies of various packaging materials, conversion technologies and futuristic innovation for next generation focusing business growth in FMCG, Food and Pharma sector. It also focused on meeting requirements of the packaging user industry and satisfying the demands of modern consumers with. The theme for the two-day conference was chosen considering that packaging plays a vital role in the growth of a country’s economy.
Today packaging has emerged as as a potent catalyst for both business growth and environmental responsibility. The Indian Institute of Packaging is committed to fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration, serving as a bacon for innovation in the pursuit of future where business growth harmonizes seamlessly with environmental stewardship. With this initiative, IIP is appealing the entire fraternity to come together for committing to a shared goal of building a better future for our planet.
Speaking about the future trends, Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary –Department of Information Technology, Electronics and communications, Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Telangana said,“With growing globalisation, there are demands in the market that packaging not only deliver quality products, but also have minimal impact on the environment which are leading to additional expectations of packaging as a science. This particular theme ‘Packaging – Innovation for Future Planet’ is specially appropriate in today’s context.” He also mentioned that MSME section is required to be boosted with technological advancements for future ready innovations. This conference and subsequent lectures will definitely add value to the best products with futuristic
packaging. This year is Millet year, and millet has proven its substance and many startups have taken initiative for products on millet. We should also encourage the millet packaging with innovative ideas as well as the startups and MSMEs to come up with indigenous technologies. This platform with definitely bring our innovative ideas for future“
