Media & Entertainment Session Highlights at Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025

Hyderabad, December 8th, 2025: The Media and Entertainment session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 was held today at Bharat Future City, reinforcing Telangana’s standing as one of India’s fastest-growing creative economy centres and an emerging national hub for film, digital media and new-age storytelling.The session, themed “The Creative Century: India’s Soft Power and the Future of Entertainment – Cinema Rising 2047,” brought together leading voices from the Indian film ecosystem for strategic discussions on advancing the next phase of growth in Telangana’s cinema landscape.

Minister’s AddressHon'ble Minister for Cinematography, Shri Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, in his keynote address, stated that Telangana aims to evolve into a global creative hub by 2047. He said the summit marks Telangana’s formal invitation to creators, investors and global partners to collaborate in building a future-ready creative economy based on innovation, inclusivity and long-term value creation.

He informed that Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy has envisioned the Telangana Rising Vision 2047 framework, targeting a USD 3 trillion economy, with culture, tourism and media as key pillars.

The Minister recalled the Telugu film industry’s historic shift from Chennai to Hyderabad led by K.V. Ranga Reddy, and highlighted landmark institutions such as Saradhi Studios, Ramakrishna Studios, Annapurna Studios, Padmalaya Studios and Ramanaidu Studios. These establishments played a pivotal role in transforming Hyderabad into a film-friendly ecosystem with world-class production capabilities.

He reaffirmed Telangana’s commitment to strengthening the creative sector through incentives, streamlined regulations, advanced infrastructure and support for emerging technologies. The Cinema Rising 2047 vision focuses on strong writing, talent pipelines, institutional training, international co-productions and storytelling rooted in regional identity with global resonance.

Panel DiscussionThe panel comprised Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, Zoya Akhtar, Allu Aravind, D. Suresh Babu, Shyam Prasad Reddy, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and Asif Ali, moderated by Arjun Kapoor.

Panellists praised Hyderabad as one of India’s most advanced filmmaking destinations, offering state-of-the-art equipment, a professional work culture and integrated studio networks. They also highlighted that culturally rooted storytelling holds strong potential for global relevance, citing the success of Korean content and the international rise of Telugu cinema.

Speakers emphasised the need for investment in writing, production skills, increased participation of women in technical and leadership roles, and enhanced collaboration between regional industries including Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi and Telugu cinema.
