Hyderabad, 10th May 2021: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one among the world’s leading jewellery retailers with over 260 stores across 10 countries, under the corporate social responsibility initiative started providing essential grocery kits to needy people at various locations of Somajiguda Store, Hyderabad. The event has been organized in the presence of Mr. Shareej, Store Head, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Shareej & Management Team members.
Speaking about the event Mr. Shareej, Store Head, Malabar Gold & Diamonds informed that a total of 500 No’s Grocery kits were distributed to poor and needy people in Old city Barkas, Sanath Nagar, Erragadda, khairathabad, Borabanda, Rehmath Nagar & Nampally area during the program and thanked the dignitaries for attending and providing their valuable support in organizing the program, proper precautions are been followed by the team members, wearing masks, gloves, using regular sanitizers and maintaining social distancing with individuals during this program. Also assured that the team will continue doing these activities on a continuous basis to support the poor and needy.
Malabar Group has been carrying relief activities across various states through supporting grocery kits to the needy across various parts of India. More than 4000+ food kits distribution has been planned across Telangana region with the support of the Malabar Gold & Diamond stores. They carry out similar activities in gulf regions also. The social wing of Malabar Group focuses on conceptualizing and implementing the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. CSR initiatives are at the core of the Malabar Group’s corporate philosophy right from the days of inception. Over the last two decades, the group has contributed substantially to the welfare of society through CSR activities such as the supply of free lifesaving medicines, financial aid for the construction of homes for the homeless people, women empowerment programs, student scholarships and environmental protection activities etc.
Malabar Group spends 5% of its profit on CSR activities. It earmarks over Rs 20 Crores, every year for charity activities. The Housing Charitable Trust under Malabar Group has already given financial aid to more than 15941 homeless people. In Telangana & Andhra Pradesh region, over 15000 girls were awarded scholarships worth nearly 4.5 crores as part of the CSR activities in the last 5 years. In the last 20 years, Malabar Charitable Trust has supported more than 6 lakhs of needy persons the financial assistance for medical assistance.
