Hyderabad, October 5, 2025: In response to the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India’s alert dated 21 July 2025, emphasizing strict adherence to the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021, GSL Medical Institutions (India) and Impuls Medical Institute (Uzbekistan) have jointly launched the first-ever MBBS program fully aligned with NMC norms.
This landmark Indo–Uzbek academic partnership ensures that Indian students pursuing medical education abroad receive training equivalent to Indian MBBS standards — comprising 54 months of academic study followed by 12 months of paid clinical internship. The program is fully compliant with all NMC requirements, including English-medium instruction, NMC syllabus, cadaveric dissections, and dual clinical exposure across affiliated hospitals.
Students will also receive integrated year-round training for both Indian (FMGE/NExT) and international licensing exams (USMLE/ UKMLA/MRCP/MRCS) under the guidance of Indian and global faculty.
Dr Bakhtinur Oybutaevich Khudanov — President, Impuls Medical Institute, stated:
Our academic programs are designed in line with India’s NMC guidelines and USMLE standards. Jointly reviewed by Indian and Uzbek experts, our ECTS- and CBME-based curriculum ensures that graduates remain eligible to practice in India, the USA, the UK, and globally.
Dr Orifjon Kholmirzaev — Rector of Impuls Medical Institute, Namangan Region, added:
Located in Tashkent and Namangan, Impuls has emerged as a leading hub for international medical education. This collaboration with GSL enables our students to learn under experienced Indian and international faculty while remaining eligible for medical registration in India after qualifying licensing exams.
Dr. Tarun Gogineni, Director, GSL Institutions and Hospitals, emphasized:
“The NMC has advised Indian students to choose only those foreign institutions that comply fully with FMGL Regulations, 2021, as non compliance can affect their future registration in India. Through this partnership with Impuls Medical Institute — recognized by the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan and listed with WHO and ECFMG — we are ensuring a safe, compliant, and globally recognized pathway for Indian students, including postgraduate opportunities in the USA and UK.”
Mr. Sri Rohit, COO of NEO Institute of Medical Sciences, commented:
“This collaboration offers students the comfort of home with the quality of global education. From Indian educational environment and FMGE preparation to modern hostels with authentic Indian food, every aspect ensures safety, support, and global career readiness.”
Dr Alisher Khamdamov — Rector of Impuls Medical Institute, Tashkent Region, highlighted:
“Students will receive clinical exposure across more than 43 partner hospitals in Uzbekistan, gaining real patient interactions and hands-on experience essential for developing strong clinical skills.”
This collaboration between GSL Medical Institutions and Impuls Medical Institute marks a major milestone in Indo–Uzbek educational cooperation, providing Indian students with a globally relevant, NMC-compliant medical education. By aligning international standards with India’s FMGL framework, the partnership enables students to pursue their medical ambitions abroad without compromising their eligibility or professional future in India.
