Hyderabad, 28 October 2024: H Day 3 celebration of IKMC2024 marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the Narayanan Vaghul Building at IKP Knowledge Park, Genome Valley. This new administrative hub stands as a heartfelt tribute to the late Mr. Narayanan Vaghul, the visionary founder of IKP. Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, Chairman and CEO of IKP, presided over the inauguration ceremony and expressed profound gratitude for Mr. Vaghul’s enduring legacy.
Following the inauguration, the day continued with the Genome Valley CXO Conclave, where leaders from IKP’s resident and anchor companies gathered to discuss and shape the vision for IKP’s next 25 years.
A major announcement during the conclave was IKP’s proposal to establish a new biomanufacturing hub for clinical materials. The state-of-the-art facility, to be located on the IKP campus, is aimed at supporting growth companies and SMEs by providing access to essential biomanufacturing resources. The new hub is expected to be operational within 2-3 years, marking another step towards IKP's commitment to fostering innovation in the life sciences sector.
Additionally, the event highlighted the SheLeads Initiative – a collaborative effort between IKP and USP to address the underrepresentation of women in science. Mrunal Jaywant, VP, USP, led the discussion on the initiative, outlining the upcoming steps, which include a meet-and-greet networking session for women scientists scheduled for November 2024 and a survey to better understand the mentoring needs of women scientists.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson, Biocon Group has been honored with the IKP@25 Shapers Award at #IKMC2024 for her invaluable and steadfast support of over 25 years to IKP Knowledge Park.
The day concluded with heartfelt testimonies from representatives of various companies, who reminisced about their journey and association with IKP while expressing their best wishes for the organization’s future growth.
