Hon'ble Minister for ITE&C, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana,Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu lays foundation stone of Integrated Plant for Ingenious Defence Systems



Hyderabad, February 19, 2024 : Apollo Micro Systems Limited widely known as AMS, is a Telangana based public listed company working on critical Defence & Space technologies and entered its 40th Year of operation this year. The company is headed by its Founder & Managing Director, Mr. B. Karunakar Reddy, with its headquarters in Hyderabad. The company is into development of Indigenous technologies and is one amongst the first companies in Hyderabad working for Department of Space and Defence, offering design services.


The Foundation Stone Laying and Groundbreaking ceremony of the facility named IPiDS (Integrated Plant for Ingenious Defence Systems) was performed by the Hon'ble Minister for ITE&C, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana, Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu Garu, on 19th February 2024 in presence of Principal Secretary ITE&C, Industries, and Commerce, Sri Jayesh Ranjan - IAS, Managing Director TSIIC , Sri Vishnu Vardhan Reddy - IFS and Director Aerospace, Government of Telangana, Sri P.A. Praveen.


This manufacturing facility shall be built on around 5 Acres of Land at Hardware Park-2 situated at Hyderabad, Telangana. With total built up area of 3,50,000 Sq. Ft. with end-to-end manufacturing and qualification set-up as per international standards with a Total investment of Rs 210 Crores. The company intends to provide an additional employment to around 400 people.


Addressing the gathering Hon'ble Minister appreciated the contribution of the company to the Indian Defence Industry and congratulated its Managing Director, Mr. B. Karunakar Reddy and his team for this commendable achievement.


Hon'ble Minister also said that Telangana is at the forefront and has established itself as a Hub for Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing in India. He mentioned that Telangana has consistently been ranked as the Best State for Aerospace by Government of India and has won the biennial Best State award for Aerospace from Ministry of Civil Aviation 4 times in a row (2018, 2020, 2022, 2024). Additionally, he highlighted that Hyderabad was also ranked No. 1 in cost-effectiveness by Financial Times Global rankings for Aerospace Cities of the Future (2020-21).
