24 th August, 2023, Hyderabad: The National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU
UK) and the British Council in India are hosting the Achievers Dialogues across various cities
in India during the course of August 2023. The Achievers Dialogues are a part of the year-long India UK Achievers Honours programme which celebrates the 75th anniversary of India s
independence and the long history of educational collaboration between India and the UK.
The Achievers Dialogues have been curated with the objective of inspiring young minds by
providing unique opportunities for engagement with the country;s thought leaders on topics of contemporary relevance. Through these conversations we also seek to promote meaningful dialogue between people in both countries, furthering the India-UK relationship.
The Hyderabad edition of the Achievers Dialogues takes place on Saturday 26 August 2023 at 3pm at the SVIT Auditorium, and is hosted by Global Tree, one of India’s trusted abroad
educational consultants.
The event features an incredible line-up of the country’s young thought leaders and senior
stakeholders from the India-UK corridor. Speakers include:
Keynote address by Mithali Raj, Former Indian Women’s Cricket Captain
Special address by Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra
Pradesh & Telangana
Special address by Janaka Pushpanathan, Director British Council South India
Dr Anthony Vipin Das, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Innovator
Dr Vignesh Krishnan, Director Hyderabad of Teach for India
Sanam Arora, Chairperson of National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK;

Students will have the opportunity to listen to and network with these trailblazers many of whom are alumni of the UK from leading universities such as the University of Oxford, London
School of Economics, University College London and King’s College London; understand
their incredible journeys and learn from their experiences and guidance.
The session will shed a light on key aspects of studying in the UK, such as opportunities for
Indian students, scholarships, building meaningful & purpose-driven careers, graduate
immigration route, visas and more.
The India UK Achievers Honours are supported by the UK Government’s Department for
International Trade and the UK Higher Education sector.
