Hyderabad, April 22, 2025: In a significant stride towards sustainable development, Devi BioCNG Pvt Ltd, a pioneering start-up dedicated to converting agri-residue into renewable energy and value-added products, has signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT).

The signing ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Devi BioCNG Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Devi Energies Pvt Ltd, which holds the distinction of developing and operating the only private sector hydro power project in the entire North Eastern region of India, located in the strategically important border district of Arunachal Pradesh adjacent to India, China, and Bhutan.

With this MoU, the two entities aim to develop a novel project focused on converting agricultural waste into Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and other value-added products, ushering in a model of circular economy in the region. The project, situated in North East India, is in an advanced stage and is expected to be commissioned before the end of this financial year.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in leveraging indigenous technology to transform waste into wealth while empowering local economies and contributing to India’s renewable energy goals.
