Hyderabad, November 14, 2025: Chanakya Survey’s Mukesh said that the BRS had a strong chance of winning the Jubilee Hills by-election, but internal sabotage by its own leaders led to the party’s defeat. He noted that although there was considerable public sympathy for BRS, the party failed to capitalise on it.

He explained that the exit poll conducted on November 4 initially indicated a likely victory for BRS. However, after fresh inputs from field surveyors, the updated findings released on November 11 showed that Congress had gained a clear advantage.

According to the survey, opposition leaders were unable to effectively reach out to voters on November 8, 9, and 11. Meanwhile, the ruling party made full use of the opportunity by deploying ministers, chairpersons, and ground-level coordinators—assigning one in-charge for every 100 voters. This intensive voter engagement played a crucial role in Congress’ win.

The report also highlighted former minister Harish Rao’s brief absence from the campaign, K.T. Rama Rao having to campaign alone, and K. Chandrashekar Rao not participating in the by-election campaign created disappointment among BRS supporters. As a result, many voters shifted towards Congress.

Based on Chanakya Survey’s estimates, the winning margin was expected to be around 16,000 votes; however, Congress’ strong poll management efforts increased the final majority to nearly 24,000 votes.
