TUMChargeisauniqueEVChargingStationwhichisverydifferentfromotherEVchargingstations asitusesATUM,theworld’sfirstElectricityGeneratingIntegratedSolarRoof.ATUMSolarRoof,for whichVisakaholdsapatent,bothinIndiaandSouthAfrica,willenabletheentireelectricvehicle chargingpropositiontomoveto100%solarwhereas,currently,mostEVchargingstationsuse electricityproducedbythermalpowergeneration,whichisoneoftheprimarysourcesofpollution, completelydefeatingthepurposeofmovingtoenvironment-friendly power.Conventiona lEV Charging Station, which use thermal power to generate electricity ,also putadditional pressure on the electricity grid further accentuating the power problem plaguing thecountry.
ATUMCharge,theuniversalEVChargingStationsforallEVs,willalsobetheservicestationfor Atumobile’sATUM1.0,acaféracerstylede-bike,as well as its official test ride centre.To support its customers and encourage the adoption of EVs,Atumobilecustomers will be allowed to charge theire- bikes for free ,where as othe brand EVowners will only be charged anominal fee at ATUM Charge Stations.ATUM Charge Stations will also have free Wi-Fiand work stations which can be used by people, as a satellite office ,as they charge their electric vehicles.
Currently Visakahas installed 4KW capacity panels which can conveniently charge upto10-12 vehicles (2/3/4wheeler) per day given that any EV today takes between6-8hoursforafullcharge.Thefacility has three charging sockets.The company will be installing an additional capacity of 6KW,making it possible to charge 25-30 vehicles per day.
