Hyderabad, 19th August 2023: American flag football nationals 2023 were inaugurated in Hyderabad Gymkhana grounds on Saturday. Koutike Vittal, who is India’s No.1 Chief Life Insurance Advisor (CLIA) For LIC, and brand ambassador for the Indian team attended the opening ceremony. The Telangana team is one of the top favorites for the title. Telangana has already won the two group matches against Kerala and Haryana and topped the group. A total of 12 men’s teams, and 8 women’s teams are participating in this tournament.
Men’s teams: Telangana, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana.
Women’s teams: Rajasthan, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Chandigarh, and Punjab.
Based on the performance in the nationals, the Indian team will be selected for the Asian Oceanic championship, which will be held in Malaysia this coming October. Indian team participated in world championships in 2018 and 2021. The American football federation of India is recognized by the international federation of American Football and the Indian Olympic Association.
