Aler Sarpanch and deputy Sarpanch suspended

Nagarkurnool Sept 23, 2020: The Aler village Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch in Peddakottapally mandal were suspended by Nagarkurnool district collector Sharman Chavan on Wednesday for showing utter negligence in taking up the development activities in the village.

The district collector while inspecting the development works taken up under the state government's palle pragathi programme visited Aler village and was unhappy with the pathetic pace of development works in the village. Angered over the irresponsible attitued of the Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch, the collector instructed to the District Panchayat officer (DPO) to suspend them with immediate effect.

Earlier, the collector visited the villages of Chinnakottapally, Satapur and Aler villages of Peddakottapally Mandal in the district and took stock of various development activities being taken up under the state government’s prestigious Palle Pragathi programme.

The collector inspected the construction of sink pits, Palle prakruthi vanams, Rythu Vedikas, Crematoriums, Fertilizer Sheds, Dump yards and also inspected how the online classes are being going on for school children in the villages.

The collector expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of works going on and warned the concerned officials and the local people’s representatives to speed up the works and complete them by end of this month. While inspecting the Rythu Vedika works in Aler village, the collector expressed his anger as there was nothing concrete being done for the construction of the works and the Sarpanch and the Deputy Sarpanch had been behaving irresponsible. Angered over this the district collector instructed the DPO to suspend the Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch for their utter negligence.

“We will not spare anyone who is not serious about the development works in the villages. The government is spending crores of rupees for the Palle pragathi programme to develop the rural villages and to provide better living conditions in the villages; however the local leaders along with some officials are behaving irresponsible. We will not tolerate this and will take action against them,” warned the collector.
