8th Global Grace Cancer Run Unites 30,000 in Hyderabad and 1.5 Lakh Worldwide

Hyderabad, October 12, 2025:The 8th Edition of the Quambiant Developers Global Grace Cancer Run took place at the Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the global fight against cancer. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 30,000 runners in the physical run, with an additional 1.5 lakh participants joining virtually from 130 countries.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri D. Sridhar Babu, IT Minister of Telangana; Shri Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister for Transport and BC Welfare; Shri Vakiti Srihari, Sports Minister of Telangana; Shri Vem Narendar, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister; Sri Shiva Sena Reddy, Chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana; and Shri Adivi Sesh, film star. Also present were Shri VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad; Shri Avinash Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad; and Shri Arekapudi Gandhi, MLA, Serilingampally.

Leaders Praise Dr. Chinnababu’s Vision

In his address, Shri D. Sridhar Babu, IT Minister, commended Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli, Founder of the Grace Cancer Foundation, for initiating a movement that has now reached global heights.

“What started as a one-man initiative has transformed into a mass movement. Dr. Chinnababu’s vision has made a global impact, and his tireless efforts to eradicate cancer from our state deserve our deepest admiration,” said Sridhar Babu.“From Hyderabad to 130 countries, India is leading the way in the fight against cancer,” he added.

He urged the youth to use their mobile phones to spread awareness about early cancer detection and dedicate five minutes a day to share important information about cancer prevention and screening.

The dignitaries also felicitated Dr. Chinnababu Sunkavalli for his relentless efforts in organizing one of the world’s largest cancer awareness runs and for his contributions as a leading oncologist.

Empowering Communities Through Awareness

The Minister emphasized that awareness is the first step toward defeating cancer. Funds raised through the Run will be utilized for free cancer screenings for underprivileged communities.Grace Cancer Foundation aims to reach one lakh lives through its mobile screening units for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), providing early detection and treatment access in rural areas.

Over the past 11 years, the Global Grace Cancer Run has impacted 1.4 crore lives across 130 countries. The Foundation’s mission is to promote awareness, healthy living, access to care, and a collective commitment to fight cancer.

Dignitaries Inspire Public Action

  • Shri Ponnam Prabhakar urged citizens to take personal responsibility in spreading cancer awareness.

  • Shri Vem Narendar emphasized increasing rural outreach and screening access.

  • Shri Vakiti Srihari highlighted that “cancer is conquerable if detected early,” motivating the youth to join the movement.

  • Sri Shiva Sena Reddy encouraged the public to lead active, healthy lifestyles to create a “Healthy Telangana.”

Film Star Adivi Sesh Adds Star Power

Actor Adivi Sesh lauded the massive turnout, saying:

“I came here on the invitation of Dr. Chinnababu, but next time, I’ll be here without an invitation.”He praised the Foundation for its cause and promised continued support.

Singer Ramana Gogula energized the crowd with his live performance of “Godari Gattu Meeda.” The event also honored Cancer Conquerors — Neelima, Prakash, Sangeetha, and Geetha — who shared their inspiring survival stories.
